Nepal's Finance Minister Mr. Surendra Pandey is accused of financial wrongdoing by the coalition partner minister, reports say. Ministers and lawmakers from the coalition partner in the current government have complained to the Parliamentary Accounts Committee over the alleged misuse of state funds by the finance minister.
Mr. Pandy, also the central committee member of CPN UML, the leading coalition in Nepal's government, is said to have distributed millions of rupees to CPN UML cadres unscrupulously.
News reports from Nepal say that he has distributed about 680 million ruppees to the non-governtal organizations and private companies run by CPN UML cadres in various districts of the country. The large amount of the funds have been allotted to his cadres based in the capital, already the well-off city in the country.
Lawmakers from his own party have also expressed serious concern over the minister's misuse of stete funds. According to reports, Nepal's parliamentary committee is said to be requested to investigate the misuse of funds.
